A bold intervention to a local icon, this project required extensive community coordination due to its historic pedigree and village core location.
The original early California Spanish Revival facade inspired the historic restoration and ground-up additions. Vintage materials and design elements were blended with state-of-the-art amenities to create a project of unparalleled elegance. San Diego Magazine in an 8-page feature article stated, “a stunning reinterpretation of a Lilian Rice original.”
Selected as one of only 25 townhouses in the country to be included in the seminel publication on the typology – “The American Townhouse.”
Its completion and subsequent attention spawned an entire rethinking of high-end, in-town living in the area.
